Tzofim entertained youngsters of all ages at the JCC

On Monday June 23, 2014, an Israel Scouts Summer Friendship Caravan came to Orlando as guests of the Boy Scout Troupe 6 at Camp Ithiel. The visit was organized by Scoutmaster Brian Collins, who was first introduced to Israel Scouts (Tzofim) when his son did a bar mitzvah volunteer project. Since that time, Collins has worked on bringing the Tzofim to Orlando and this year his dream became a reality.

The Summer Caravan had been traversing Florida last month, visiting summer camps and community centers. The day-long visit started with an interfaith program at the Islamic Society of Central Florida. Following that, the Caravan came to the Maitland campus and put on a song and dance show for Camp J youngsters and the 39ers Club seniors. The young and the old, all enjoyed the show and the lively interaction with the Tzofim. The day was rounded up with dinner and campfire with Boy Scouts at Camp Ithiel. The 10 talented young people brought the spirit of Israel to Orlando.
