Congregation Ohev Shalom—People of the Book, book discussion of “The Jew in the Lotus,” by Roger Kamenetz. Chapters 7-9 will be discussed. Meet after Shabbat morning services, Facilitated by Janet Friedman and Rabbi David Kay. Open to the community.

SUNDAY, JUNE 28

J.O.IN. Orlando—Hosts an interactive discussion titled: The Joy of Jewish Holidays” at 8 a.m. Shacharis at Orlando Torah Center, 8591 Banyan Blvd., Orlando. Breakfast included.

Jewish Orlando’s Shalom Families—Pool party at The Roth Family Jewish Community Center, 11 a.m.—1:30 p.m., enjoy kosher food catered by Brown’s New York Deli. Activities will include a very special craft project for the kids, a PJ Library story and other surprises. Admission is free for JCC members and free for nonmembers who sign up in advance through this Shalom Families link. (Admission is $5 per person for nonmembers who do not sign up in advance).

MONDAY, JUNE 29

Israeli Folk Dancing— No beginner’s class, 7:30-8:15 p.m. instruction, 8:15-10 p.m., requests. Cost: Free for JCC members, $5 nonmembers. Info: 407-645-5933.

TUESDAY, JUNE 30

Torah & Tea—Women’s study group meeting weekly from 9:30—10:30 a.m. in the Conference Room at the Chabad Center of Jewish Life, 7347 W. Sand Lake Road, Orlando. The group is open to all women. Admission is free and no previous Jewish education is required.

Temple Israel—Community invited to an evening of crafts, wine, snacks and fun at All Fired Up, 229 West Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park. 7 p.m. $18 per person includes one Judaic ceramic piece, all materials and food.
