Jennie Berg, age 101 ½, of Casselberry, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. Mrs. Berg was born in Detroit, Michigan, on Nov. 14, 1913, one of four daughters, to the late Isaac and Rachel Siegal Ross. She was a high school graduate and was able to attend two years of college before having to leave and help her family during the Depression.

She was married to her late husband, Morris Berg, for 60 years when he passed away in 1995. Jennie and Morris were dedicated to their five children, ensuring that each of them had a college education. Later, after they had retired to the Orlando area in search of a warmer climate for Morris, they traveled yearly to Chicago and Michigan to visit children and grandchildren during the summer months.

Mrs. Berg is survived by her son, David; daughters, Falene (Sheldon) Freedman and Joyce Slaim; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Dr. Albert Berg, and daughter, Sharon Sonheim; and her three sisters.

A funeral service was held at the Ohev Shalom Pavilion with Rabbi Aaron Rubinger officiating. In memory of Jennie Berg, the family requests contributions to the charity of choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 640 Lee Road, Orlando 32810.
