Ukrainian born Boris Savchek has risen to international fame as a violinist who specializes in Jewish Folk Music, Jazz, Improvisational violin and viola.

An uplifting evening of ancient Jewish soul music is being hosted by Chabad of South Orlando with the international violin artist, Boris Savchek. Guests will be treated to a large repertoire of songs, including many historic Chassidic melodies known for their universal appeal as authentically moving Jewish music.

The event is planned for Monday evening, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chabad Center of Jewish Life, 7347 W Sand Lake Road. Tickets are $10 each, and the event is open to the larger Jewish community. "This is Boris's first visit to Orlando, and we are honored to have him as our guest," says Rabbi Yosef Konikov, the event's host. "The power of Jewish music and of Chassidic melodies specifically is beyond comprehension; we invite you to come, listen, and be inspired."

Boris was born in Ukraine, where he began playing the violin at age 6. After immigrating to Israel in 1990, Boris gained popularity as a classic player of Jewish folk songs rooted in Eastern European culture. Boris is known for playing Chassidic melodies, but he also specializes in Jazz and Improvisational violin and viola and includes Popular, Romantic, Latin and World music in his extensive repertoire. Since moving to Israel, Boris has recorded over 10 albums and completed multiple U.S. and world tours.
