92Y Live fall series covers many topics

If you are looking for stimulating conversation, enlightenment about current events, adult learning about aging, or just a nice evening out with friends, the upcoming fall programs of the 92Y Live is for you. Congregation Ohev Shalom, Congregation of Reform Judaism, and Roth JCC bring the best and the brightest to us for the cost of going to a movie. This fall we will have the opportunity to see two broadcasts on very different topics.
The first show will be on Thursday, Nov. 19, 7 p.m., at Congregation of Reform Judaism with Harold S. Kushner and Rachel Cowan along with Rabbi Peter J. Rubinstein. They will be discussing the topic of Living Well and Aging Well. Harold Kushner, the author of "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" and 13 other landmark books, including a new title, "Nine Essential Things I've Learned About Life," is joined by Rachel Cowan, author of "Wise Aging," for what is sure to be an inspiring and uplifting discussion about what it means to live a good life. Join these great thinkers as they discuss faith, life lessons, wise aging, and other significant issues about which we should all be thinking.

The second show will be on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 8:15 p.m. It will be presented via satellite broadcast and will be viewed on a large screen in the sanctuary of Congregation Ohev Shalom. This lecture will offer the audience the opportunity to be a part of the question and answer time, with questions from Orlando emailed to New York. It will feature David Gregory and Erica Brown with Rabbi Peter J. Rubinstein. Join former NBC newsman and "Meet the Press" moderator David Gregory and religious scholar Erica Brown as they discuss issues of faith, identity, and leadership in your personal and professional life. David Gregory's new book is "How's Your Faith?" and Erica Brown is the author of "Take Your Soul to Work."
The entire community is invited to attend these programs. Refreshments will be served at both programs. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in the COS office or over the phone (407-298-4650) and CRJ (407-645-0444) with a credit card. The cost of tickets purchased in advance is $10 per program or $15 at the door. The cost for both programs will be $18 if purchased in advance and it is free for students.
