Jewish Academy presents Living History Museum

Fifth graders in period costumes for the Living History Museum.

The students of the Jewish Academy of Orlando took a step back in time as all grades visited the fifth grade Living History Museum. This interactive program is the culminating project of their colonial studies unit.

The fifth grade students had the opportunity in March to travel to colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, for three days to see first-hand how the colonists lived. Historical figures who lived there in the 1700s were then chosen and researched. Presentations included period costumes and props, prepared speeches, hand-drawn and painted hanging backdrops, and a digital component. The students showed off their knowledge as the kindergarten through 4th grade students and their parents visited the museum to see colonial history come to life.
