Vitas Healthcare chaplain to lead Beth Am High Holiday services

Rabbi Edward C. Bernstein

Congregation Beth Am is pleased to announce that Rabbi Edward C. Bernstein will serve as its spiritual leader for the 2017 High Holidays. 

"My family and I are excited to join the Beth Am community for the High Holidays," said Rabbi Bernstein. "I look forward to sharing meaningful learning, singing, praying and reflecting on the best possible start to 5778." 

Rabbi Bernstein is a chaplain for Vitas Healthcare and an educator and author. From 2011 to 2017, he served as spiritual leader of Temple Torat Emet in Boynton Beach, and also served pulpits in New Rochelle, N.Y., and Beachwood, Ohio. He was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York in 1999 and has held numerous leadership positions in rabbinic and Jewish communal organizations on the local, regional and national levels. Presently, Rabbi Bernstein is president of the Rabbinical Assembly of South Florida and vice president of the Board of Rabbis of Palm Beach County. He has been a fellow in several continuing education programs including Greenfaith and STAR-PEER.


He blogs on Judaism for the Huffington Post and at http://www.rabbiedbernstein.com. He is the editor of "Love Finer Than Wine: The Writings of Matthew Eisenfeld and Sara Duker," 2016 National Jewish Book Awards finalist. Rabbi Bernstein's wife, Ariella Reback, an attorney, hails from Altamonte Springs. They have three children: Sam, Noam and Esther.
