Yaffa Magier, age 96, passed away at Horizon Bay—Altamonte Springs, on Wednesday, July 31, 2016. A native of Izza, Czechoslovakia, she was a Holocaust survivor, working as a laundress in Auschwitz. Her parents, Chaim and Blima Steinberg Lindenbaum, and two of her sisters perished. Following the Shoah, Yaffa made her way to Israel where she met and married her late husband, Martin. Congregation Ohev Shalom’s clergy assistant, Vered Tzur, was hit from behind by a car on July 18, as she was riding her bicycle in Maitland. She died instantly.
