Obituary - MARTIN I. FINKELSTEIN

 


Martin I. Finkelstein of Casselberry died on on Saturday, July 20. He was 89 years old.

He was born in Philadelphia on June 26, 1924, to the late Reuben and Ida Kaplan Finkelstein. Following high school he entered the Army and served in Europe during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. He then enrolled in the University of Massachusetts where he had received a full four-year scholarship. On Dec. 12, 1947, in Paterson, N.J., he married the former Ann Ginsberg, his wife of more than 65 years, who survives him. During his working career, Mr. Finkelstein worked as a technical director in textiles.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Finkelstein is survived by his daughters, Norma Finkelstein of Philadelphia and Beth Finkelstein of Maine; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia Finkelstein.

Graveside funeral services with military honors were held at Bet Chaim Cemetery in Gotha with Rabbi Thom Werthman officiating.
