JFGO: Shaping the future, medically speaking

In December, Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando's Maimonides Medical, Cardozo Legal, Financial, and Real Estate societies will be hosting a dinner in support of the 2014 Shaping the Future: Annual Campaign. The event will be on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Congregation Ohev Shalom, 613 Concourse Parkway South, Maitland, 32751.

The dinner will feature special guest speaker, Talia Levanon, who is the director of the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC). The ITC is a collaborative network committed to delivering trauma-related care and preparedness. During Levanon's tenure at the ITC, she has provided the professional oversight for several innovative projects including the establishment of resilience and national training centers.

Levanon has represented Israel at the United Nations in forums dedicated to victims of terror and has worked with W.H.O., U.N.I.C.E.F, C.D.C and UTOPA on several post disaster initiatives. Most recently, Levanon and her ITC team were in Boston offering training and support in the aftermath of the marathon bombing.
