Obituary - NATALIE HACKEL GLICKSTEIN HAAS

 


Natalie “Pat” Hackel Glickstein Haas of Jacksonville, passed away on March 2, 2014. She was 95 years old. The youngest of five daughters, she was born in Vidalia, Ga., to the late Joseph and Rose Rubenstein Hackel. She moved with her family to Jacksonville in 1929.

Mrs. Haas earned her teachng degree at Florida State College for Women and taught elementary school for two years. She was married to longtime Jacksonville dentist, Dr. Felix Glickstein in June 1941, until his death in 1987. She married Louis Haas in 1990, until his death in 2003.

Mrs. Haas was a devoted member of Congregation Ahavath Chesed, lifelong volunteer in the Jacksonville Jewish and greater Jacksonville communities, an avid gardener, freelance writer, talented cook, and skilled hostess. Her great sense of style and remarkable wit was with her into her final days.

Mrs. Haas is survived by her sons, Martin (Emily) Glickstein and Paul Glickstein; grandchildren, Rachel (Tobin) Bossola and David Glickstein; and two great-grandchildren.


The family expresses their deep appreciation to the staff at River Garden for their loving and attentive care. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Haas’ name may be made to River Garden Hebrew Home, 11401 Old St. Augustine Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32258.

Arrangements were under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin in Jacksonville.
