Ken Davis, Golf chairman, presents tournament proceeds to Jewish Pavilion President Carol Feuerman, (actual monies exceeded expectations).

While the weather outside was cloudy and showers were sporadic, close to 50 golfers happily gathered for the second annual Pavilion Golf Society Tournament on Sunday, June 1, at Alaqua Country Club. Thanks to sponsorships from Fifth Third Bank, IOA, Sonny's BBQ, advertisers and hole sponsors, the Jewish Pavilion raised over $16,000 to support the Orlando Senior Help Desk. Proceeds allow seniors and family members to obtain the assistance and guidance they need when faced with a crisis. Senior Resource Director Emily Newman, an experienced social worker, was at the tournament to introduce the Help Desk to golfers.

Co-chairmen Ken Davis and Lloyd Green worked tirelessly for months organizing all the festivities. As Master of Ceremonies for the Day, Davis interacted with every golfer, alternating between his various roles as comedian, storyteller and inspirational coach. His wife, Joy, was on hand to help with everything from registration to the sale of raffles to mulligans and power drives.

The Jewish Pavilion is grateful to Golf Pro, Austin Hughes and the staff at Alaqua Country Club and have booked again with Alaqua for next year's tournament, June 7, 2015. Ken Davis and Lloyd Geeen have signed on for another year of co-chairing this event.
