Federation launches business networking program

This month, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando will launch its new Jewish Business Network. JBN is a group of Jewish business and professional men and women who are dedicated to this community and want to make it stronger. JBN meetings will create new opportunities for connection and involvement with Jewish community members to form social and business relationships, network, and make referrals.

JBN got its start with the help of five enthusiastic “charter” members: Nancy Hecht-Faracchio, Gale Milgrim, David Brenner, Lawrence Kolin, and Bill Sholk. “We think the JBN will offer a great opportunity for all members of the Jewish business community to come together to learn more about each other’s work and explore mutually beneficial relationships,” said Sholk.

JBN’s first networking event is Monday, March 9, at 7 p.m. at Brown’s Deli (located at 156 Lake Ave., Maitland). JBN will hold fast-paced networking meetings about every six weeks, alternating in the early morning or in the evening, that allow people to meet, mingle, and make a brief business pitch. “While we have participated in more honorary business and professional societies in years past, this effort seeks a practical approach to networking through a proven process that seeks to engage committed members,” said Kolin.

Each event following the inaugural meeting will also include a short feature presentation with helpful business tips by guest speakers. JBN plans to recognize members in a web-based directory on jfgo.org. Future features may include a job board, a formal mentorship program, and other member benefits. JBN is open to all business and professional persons in the Jewish community of the Greater Orlando area for a nominal donation. JBN will also foster greater awareness of and involvement with the Jewish community and is an official program of the Jewish Federation.

To register for the March 9 event or for more information call Olga Yorish at 407-645-5933 or email her at oyorish@jfgo.org.
