Obituary - WINIFRED "WINNIE" BENJAMIN

 


Winnie Benjamin, age 84, of Orlando, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Hospice of the Comforter. The youngest of eight children, she was born in Baxley, Georgia, on May 3, 1931, to the late William B. and Florence Bailey Causey, and was the widow of the late George M. Benjamin, her husband of 50 years, who passed away in July 2011. She and George relocated to Orlando in 1962, from Jacksonville and became members of Congregation of Reform Judaism.

Mrs. Benjamin was a true Southern lady, tending to her garden and yard, she will be remembered by all who knew her as one of the kindest and sweetest people. A longtime resident of College Park, she was always caring for others—her family, friends, pets and others.

Mrs. Benjamin is survived by her daughters, Joy (Donald) Zerivitz of Altamonte Springs and Linda (J.L.) Richards of Lakeland; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Congregation of Reform Judaism with Rabbi Steven W. Engel and Cantor Jacqueline Rawiszer officiating. Burial followed at CRJ Cemetery in Gotha.
