Those who tune into "So You Think You Can Dance" got a nice surprise last Monday as Israeli-born Asaf Goren, who calls himself "The Hebrew Breaker," brought down the house with his style of B–boy break dancing that held judges Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo riveted to their seats. That is, only till the end of his routine, when they jumped to their feet in applause along with the rest of the audience who gave him a rousing standing ovation. At first, the 23-year-old originally from Tel Aviv, confused the panel with a shofar and prayer shawl he used at the beginning of his dance. However, all confusion quickly faded away as he performed his style of street dancing that seemed to defy gravity.

"I think everybody in this theater is absolutely shocked at what they've just seen there," Lythgoe told Goren afterward. "As for me, I have no idea still what Hebrew b-boy is, but I would say, in the British vernacular, that was bloody great B-boying."

Lythgoe went on to say that they are always looking for "signature moves," and Goren provided one when he did a breathtaking dive onto the floor, landing on the nape of his neck then going into a roll. "This is exactly the kind of thing we are looking for," Lythgoe said.

Singer-dancer Jason Derulo told Goren point-blank, "You're a star. I believe that you're gonna create something that's special that can change the world... And If I can help that dream come true, I'm down," continued Derulo.

The judges unanimously gave him a ticket to Los Angeles (where Goren currently lives) to continue on to the finals in the dance competition.
