JFGO Campaign closing in on $1M

With just days to go in its 2015 Annual Campaign, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando is tantalizingly close to hitting the $1 million mark-a mere $1,965 away-for the first time since 2007. As of June 24, the Annual Campaign has raised $998,035.

Federation has seen an uptick in its Annual Campaign gifts for the past few years as the economy has continued to recover. But JFGO Executive Director Olga Yorish says the prospect of reaching $1 million this year has given the organization a huge boost in momentum.

"I am confident that we will hit $1 million, and we are all working around the clock to make that happen," Yorish says. "So many of our supporters have answered the call to get us here, and we owe it to them to finish strong and make this year's campaign one for the record books."

While reaching the milestone of $1 million is important, Yorish says, she is more heavily motivated by the prospect of what the additional funds will mean for the Federation's programming and that of its constituent agencies.

"The additional money we have raised this year will enable Federation to expand its reach to the Jewish community, touching more lives than we have been able to in years," she says. "I want all of our generous supporters to know that their gifts, from $1 to $100,000, have a direct and lasting impact at home and in Israel. These gifts matter, and every one of our donors deserves credit for helping to better the lives of their fellow Jews."
