Obituary - SALLY SALAMY

 


Sally Kagan Stotsky Salamy passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was 103 years old. Born in Poland Feb. 18, 1912, she came to the U.S. in 1923 at the age of 11. She gerw up in Bayonne, N.J., and was married to her first husband, Philip Kagan in 1933 at the age of 21. She and Philip had two daughters, Loretta and Annette. The marriage ended in 1946.

She married Maurice Salamy in 1948. They had two sons, Gordon and Sterling, who died in 1985.

Mrs. Salamy died on Sterlings birth date.

The Salamys moved to Massapequa Park, Long Island, in 1952. They moved to Orlando 1963.

Mrs. Salamy was a life member of The Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary, The VFW Ladies Auxillary, and the Moose Lodge 1002. She was a retired seamstress, and also did volunteer work at the Orlando Veterans Clinic for 20 years.

Her hobbies were ballroom dancing, bowling, billiards and knitting.

Mrs. Salamy is survived by her husband, Maurice; daughters, Loretta Harvey and Annette McPerson; son, Gordon; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Salamy was a long-time member of Congregation Ohev Shalom and was buried at the COS cemetery on Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando.

Services were entrusted to Beth Shalom Chapel, 640 Lee Road, Orlando, 407-599-1180.
