Obituary - ROBERT EUGENE NEWTON

 


Robert Eugene Newton of Orlando, passed away on Jan. 10, 2016. He was 74 years old, born to Eugene Newton and Edith Parsley in Hamilton, Ohio, on June 15, 1941. Mr. Newton was married on June 17, 1961, to his devoted wife of 54 years, Phyllis Patrick.

Since the 1960s, Mr. Newton was a successful and generous businessman working as a plumbing contractor. He never passed over the opportunity to serve those in need, be it through personal and business mentorship or through service to his church. Mr. Newton was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed visiting the woods of Pennsylvania and the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Canaveral along with many other places in between.

Mr. Newton delivered a strong heritage of the way he lived his life to his family after him, whom he loves. He is a man of God who loved reading and hearing the Psalms.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his two daughters, Kimberly Newton and Christina Chamberlin; and his son-in-law, James “Jim” Chamberlin. Mr. Newton is also survived by his grandchildren, Caleb, Lillie, Ryan, and Zachariah Newton, and Anna and Evan Chamberlin; and his two siblings, Bill and Shirley. He is predeceased by his son, Robert Thomas Newton.

Mr. Newton’s grandson, Caleb, is a freelance writer for the Heritage Florida Jewish News.

Place of interment was at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2400 Harrell Rd, Orlando, Fla. 32817.
