The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra comes to Daytona Beach

Conductor Dmitry Yablonsky

The Daytona Beach Symphony Society's 64th Season at the Peabody Auditorium (600 Auditorium Blvd), Daytona Beach, continues on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.

The evening's program includes selections from Tchaikovsky, Brahms and Saint-Saëns. Conductor Dmitry Yablonsky will also perform as soloist, on cello. Having made his orchestral debut at age 9, Maestro Yablonsky plays two very rare cellos with great history: the Guarneri 1726, and the Goffriller 1700. And the New York Times lauds, "his playing has enormous warmth and communicative flair."

The free pre-performance talk will help to further illuminate the performance, and takes place in the Rose Room in Peabody Auditorium, at 6 p.m., given by Dr. Rose Grace.

"And we encourage students, families and groups to take advantage of our ticket discount programs," adds Tracy Marino, director of Marketing and Development. "Student tickets are $10, with Student I.D.; families can get a $10 ticket per child, with 50 percent off per adult with child. And groups of 10-19 receive a 15 percent discount, while 20+ tickets purchased receive a 25 percent discount. These discounts are available in person at the Peabody Box Office only."
