Rachel Meller, age 101, of Miami Beach, passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 09, 2016. Mrs. Meller, one of four children, was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 28, 1915, to the late Elias and Esther Levy Chiprut.

She was a homemaker and was the widow of the late Irving Meller who passed away in 1972. In the early 1980s she relocated to Miami Beach from New York.

Mrs. Meller is survived by her sons, Albert (Thea) Meller of Connecticut and New York, and Murry (Meryl) Meller of Lake Mary; and by her daughters, Esther (Yankel) Hauptman of New York and Sophie (late Joe) Pollack of Tamarac, Fla. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Chiprut of Chicago; and sisters, Massel Mitrani and Grace Maya, both of Miami Beach; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
