Melanie K. Jackson, age 69, of Winter Springs, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at South Seminole Hospital in Longwood. A native of Brooklyn, New York, she was born on Oct. 27, 1947, to the late Jack and Anne Axman Ebers.

A homemaker in Oviedo, she married her husband, Jerry Jackson, on Dec. 4, 1991. Melanie and her family relocated to the Orlando area from Long Island in 1981, and were long-time members of Congregation Beth Am.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Lisa Newman of Winter Springs and Randi (Robert) Hogan of Oviedo. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Robyn) Ebers of New York; and eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service was held at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park, with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. In memory of Melanie Jackson, the family requests contributions to the Ovarian Cancer Alliance, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1710, New York NY 10122.
