Obituary - NORMAN J STEINHART

 


Norman J Steinhart, age 92, of Longwood, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. Mr. Steinhart was born in Buffalo, New York, on Oct. 9, 1924, to the late Charles and Ethel Hyman Steinhart.

Following high school, Norman served in the 464th Fighter Squadron during World War II in Asia. He saw action in Japan, China and the Ryukyu Islands earning, among others, the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with three Bronze Stars.

Following the War, he married the former Merlyn Glaser, who survives him. Norman was the owner of a retail liquor business. He and Merlyn wintered in South Florida for many years before relocating to the Orlando area last year.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Barry (Gayle) Steinhart of Longwood; and his daughters, Ronna (Wayne) Ruben of Sarasota and Lynne Steinhart of Clearwater. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Danielle Steinhart, Jackie Steinhart, Rachel and Joe Feldman, Leslie and Aaron Ruben, Danielle and Steven Kosanovich and Scott Kosanovich; and his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brooke, Tyler and Ethan.


Cryptside services and entombment were held in South Florida. Arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 640 Lee Road, Orlando 32810.
