Choices, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando's largest annual women's philanthropy event, celebrates its 25th year on Thursday, Jan. 10, at Congregation Ohev Shalom in Maitland.

The Presenting Sponsor for Choices 2019 is Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.

Since 1994, Choices has been a showcase for women's philanthropy in the Central Florida Jewish community. It's a gala event where women gather to celebrate, socialize and inspire, all in support of the Federation. The theme this year is Celebrating Women's Empowerment.

Based on feedback from women who have attended Choices in recent years, the event will return to a sit-down dinner format with food by Arthur's Creative Events & Catering. A very brief program and raffle drawings will be held at the conclusion of dinner, but the emphasis for the evening will be on socializing and celebrating.

The evening kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with registration and a cocktail hour, featuring specialty hors d'oeuvres and drinks by Arthur's. An elegant dinner follows at 7:15 p.m., with fish, vegetarian and Glatt Kosher choices.

After dinner, some of the women who took part in this year's Momentum trip to Israel, which was made possible locally by the Federation and JOIN Orlando, will share some of the highlights of their eight-day journey.

The evening will be capped off with a light-hearted talk by one of the most recognizable voices in radio, Lynn Dictor, better known as her on-air persona, "Moira." Dictor been part of the Central Florida radio landscape for 35 years on such shows as "The Philips Phile" on WTKS 104.1 and her own "Moira's Mixed Company" on NewsRadio 93.1 WFLA.

Dictor is a proud graduate of the Jewish Federation's Bornstein Leadership Development Program. She and her family are members of Congregation of Reform Judaism, where she has served in leadership roles, including congregation president.

The Choices Raffle will feature prizes such as jewelry, dining packages, JCC memberships and reserved parking spaces on both the Maitland Jewish Community campus and the Rosen JCC campus. Women who register before 5 p.m. Dec. 27 will receive one free raffle ticket, a $25 value.

Choices is made possible in part by the generosity of our sponsors. In addition to Presenting Sponsor Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, the Federation would like to give special thanks to this year's Ruby Sponsors, Krise Wealth Management and Florida Cancer Specialists.

Registration for Choices will remain open through Jan. 7. You can register on the Federation's website, http://www.jfgo.org/choices, via email at mwest@jfgo.org, or by calling the Federation office at 407-645-5933, ext. 236.
