Kinneret residents enjoy Passover seder

One table was labeled the "Russian table."

The Kinneret Council on Aging, a non-profit agency that provides ongoing programs and services to residents of Kinneret Apartments, held a Passover Seder that was shared with fellow residents, family and friends.

Seder was celebrated at Kinneret on the second night of Passover with over 50 participants. Leading the seder were Emily Block, associate director of Jewish Student Life for Hillel at Rollins College and Sharon Weil, director at Kinneret Council on Aging. The communal seder was steeped in tradition and included asking questions, searching for the afikoman and singing songs. The KCOA staff and volunteers provided terrific table service that made each resident feel both special and appreciated. Dinner was provided by Kosher Central out of South Florida and beautiful tables and place settings enhanced each attendee's experience.

"The seder provided our residents and their families an opportunity to gather on this special evening and to enjoy a traditional Passover service without leaving their homes," said Weil. "Seeing our residents singing and full of joy at our Passover seder makes all the hard work that goes into the preparations worth it!" she continued.

Kinneret Apartments, located in downtown Orlando, provides subsidized housing to 300 independent seniors. For information on the facility or to find out how you can donate to KCOA, please go to http://www.kinneretliving.org or contact Sharon Weil at 407.425.4537, ext. 211.
