A tour of the Isser and Rae Price Library of Judaica at UF

The St. Augustine Jewish Historical Society invites the community to join them on a tour the Isser and Rae Price Library of Judaica at the University of Florida on Sunday, Nov. 17, under the direction of Dr. Rebecca Jefferson, the unofficial “The Jewish Librarian of Florida.” The Society and guests will meet in the parking lot of the Main Branch of the St. Johns County Library, 1960 North Ponce De Leon Boulevard (Route U.S. 1), St. Augustine, FL 32084 at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17 for the drive to Gainesville and lunch at Falafel King, 3252 SW 35th, Gainesville, 32608. From lunch, the group will proceed to meet Jefferson at the Price Library, 2nd Avenue SW and Union Road, at 2 p.m. for an hour-long tour followed by an opportunity to examine the stacks in the 120,000-volume library. Ultimately, members of the Society and their guests hope to become familiar with the resources available to better understand the Jewish History of St. Augustine.

All are welcome to meet the members of the Society at the St. Johns County Library at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17th, or meet the group at Falafel King in Gainesville at just before 1 p.m. or meet directly at the Library at 2 pm. Jefferson will meet everyone outside the Smathers Library-Library East at 2 p.m. Parking is best opposite Library West on University Avenue. Parking restrictions around campus are lifted on Sundays.
