Obituary - ROSALIND GREENHUT

Rosalind Greenhut, age 97, of Altamonte Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at her residence. A native of Bronx, New York, she was born on Nov. 18, 1922, one of four daughters born to the late Samuel and Ethel Bortner Fisher.

Mrs. Greenhut was a high school graduate and worked for nearly 40 years in the Assessor’s Office in the City of New York. She was married to the late Adolph Greenhut for 25 years when he passed away in 1967. She remained in New York until relocating to the Orlando area in 1989, and became a member of the Congregation of Liberal Judaism (now Congregation of Reform Judaism).

Mrs. Greenhut is survived by her sons, Richard (Marilyn) Greenhut of Apopka and Michael (Carmen) Greenhut of Long Island, New York. She is also survived by her grandchildren—Amy, Eric (Pam), Debbie, Steven and Lynn; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son Kenneth.


Graveside funeral services and interment were held at the Congregation of Reform Judaism Cemetery in Gotha, with Rabbi Steven W. Engel officiating.
