Obituary - ELLYN HARBER GOLDSTEIN

April 30, 2021

Ellyn Harber Goldstein, age 81, of Winter Park, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2021, while under Hospice care.

Ellyn was born on Jan. 11, 1940, in New York City to Carl and Sallye Harber. She was the fiercely dedicated mother to Jay and Howard, her sons who survive her, as well as a dedicated daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Family came first and was above all else to Ellyn — a value that she instilled in those around her. The empty space left by her absence will be impossible to fill.

Ellyn graduated from Ethical Fieldston in 1958 and studied at Boston University. She was an active volunteer for United Cerebral Palsy in New York.

After moving to South Florida in 1974, Ellyn was the first non-South Florida employee of Bonded Builders Home Warranty Association. She was responsible for establishing BBHWA’s dominance in her areas and helped the company become the largest of its kind in the state and number one in the country.

Following her move from South Florida to Orlando, Ellyn continued her career with Arvida and Park Square Homes.

Ellyn was a sports enthusiast, beginning with participation in high school volleyball and tennis, and moving on to her real love, later in life, golf. She always made sure that a TV was showing the Cowboys football game on Thanksgiving, probably to distract from her cooking, as the holiday would not be complete without football and family.

Ellyn valued her friends and family above all else and maintained lifelong friendships, from grade school to business associates.

The family asks that any donations be made to AdventHealth Hospice Care, 480 Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs FL 32714. http://adventhealth.com/foundation/adventhealth-foundation-central-florida/hospice-care.
