Obituary - TOBY E. MENDELSOHN

Mrs. Toby E. Mendelsohn, 83, of Altamonte Springs, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026 at AdventHealth Winter Park following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Mendelsohn was born Nov. 14, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Robert Leon and Gladys Jeanette (Sherman) Lurie of blessed memory. She and her husband moved to the Orlando area in 1972 from Baltimore, Maryland and are former members of Congregation of Reform Judaism.

Mrs. Mendelsohn is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Dr. Herbert Mendelsohn of Altamonte Springs, Florida; her loving children, Jason (Ronni) Mendelsohn of Maitland, Florida; Jon (Angie) Mendelsohn of Maitland, Florida; Jill (Mark) Theisen of Winter Park, Florida and Jamie Mendelsohn (Patrick) of Altamonte Springs, Florida; beloved grandchildren — Lauren Mendelsohn, Ryan Mendelsohn, Adam Mendelsohn, Payton Mendelsohn, Ella Mendelsohn and Kori Theisen.

Toby lived a vibrant life filled with joy and kindness that she gave out selflessly to all around her. She enjoyed travel, her Peloton, the beach, the violin, the symphony, shopping and spending time with her friends and family. Her smile was contagious, and her eyes sparkled with her positive energy. She was a gift to all she encountered.

Graveside Service for Mrs. Mendelsohn were held at Palm Cemetery Winter Park (1009 North New York Avenue, Winter Park, FL) with Rabbi Dovid Dubov of Chabad of Winter Park officiating. May she rest in peace and may her memory always be a blessing.
