Carl J. Lepon, of Longwood, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013. He was 88 years old. Mr. Lepon was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 7, 1925 to the late Joseph and Gussie Schultz Lepon. Alan Litka of Orlando died on Saturday, May 18, 2013. He was 88 years old. An Orlando resident since 1953, he was born in Cincinnati on April 19, 1925, to the late Max and Jennie Vagranasky Litka. Upon graduating high school, Mr. Litka enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific theater during WWII. After the war, he returned to the United States and married the former Selma Segal, his wife of 62 years, who predeceased him in October 2008. Dr. Charles H. Silver of Longwood, Fla., died on Friday, May 17, 2013. He was 68 years old. A New York native, he was born on July 26, 1944, to the late Max and Ruth Schweitzer Silver. Dr. Silver was a school psychologist working for many years with the BOCES program in New York—a program developed in 1948 to provide shared educational programs and services to school districts throughout the state. Nahoum Givoni of Windermere, Fla., died on Monday, May 13, 2013. He was 80 years old. A survivor of the Shoah, he was born in Romania on Feb. 9, 1933 to the late David Sacagiu and Chaya Birenbaum Sacagiu. At 13 years of age he escaped from Romania and ran for two years eventually making his way to Marseilles, France, where he boarded a ship for what was then Palestine. Marilyn R. Miller, of Orlando, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Miller was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct. 31, 1927, to the late Samuel and Rose Hershkowitz Jacoby. Jake Alhadeff of Maitland, Fla., died on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was 98 years old. Born to Solomon and Estrea Benator Alhadeff in Atlanta in 1915, he was the oldest of six children. Ida Eisen, of Orlando, died on Thursday, April 18, 2013. She was 103 years old. Mrs. Eisen, the widow of the late Samuel Eisen, who passed away in 1997, was born in Poland on Dec. 15, 1909, to the late Max and Anna Schwindler Schruber.
