    Burton Schlossman of Long Beach, N.Y., died on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was 86 years old. Mr. Schlossman was born in New York City on April 28, 1926, to the late Joseph and Cecilia Gottlieb Schlossman. Following high school he enlisted in the Navy. Mr. Schlossman was a noted glass designer and a longtime member of Kiwanis.     Maria A. (Marianne) Byer, of Estero, Fla., died on Monday, April 8, 2013. She was 77 years old. Mrs. Byer was born in Germany on July 22, 1935, and moved from there to Orlando in 1956. For many years she worked in the medical records department of local hospitals. She was the widow of the late Abner Byer, who passed away in 1981, and was also predeceased by her daughter, Christine Ann Reinking, in 2008.     Florence Altchiler of Miami died on Monday, April 1, 2013. She was 89 years old. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she was born on Dec. 20, 1923, to the late Julius and Sarah Hummel Rapoport. She grew up in New York attending local area schools. While in the workforce, Mrs. Altchiler was a secretary for legal and accounting firms.     Shirley Makaron of Lake Mary, Fla., died on Monday, April 1, 2013. She was 86 years old. A New York native, she was born on Jan. 18, 1927, to the late Samuel and Bertha Baum Snyder. She married the late David Makaron in 1948 and they were married for nearly 48 years when he passed away in 1996.
