New sibling discount for JCC after-school program

The Roth Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando’s after-school program, J University, is offering a new sibling discount at its Maitland location. Families with multiple children in the after-school program receive 50 percent off the second child’s tuition, 75 percent off the third child’s, and any additional children’s tuition is free. Additionally, all children new to the program receive their first month for free.

Program organizers introduced the new discount as a way to increase the value for families with multiple children.

“This discount makes the program more affordable for families with multiple children,” said Abby Paulson, the Roth JCC’s Youth & Camp director, who oversees the after-school J University program. “I hope that this discount brings more families into the program.”

The JCC provides a safe, enriching, and fun after-school experience for children in grades K-5. Children are picked up at local schools by a professional transportation service and J University staff. Participating schools include: Bear Lake Elementary, Brookshire Elementary, Dommerich Elementary, Heathrow Elementary, Hillcrest Elementary, Jewish Academy of Orlando, Lake Orienta Elementary, Lake Sybelia Elementary, Lakemont Elementary, Park Maitland, Sabal Point Elementary, and St. Margaret Mary. The JCC encourages parents of children at other schools to contact them, as additional routes can often be added with sufficient interest.

Upon arrival, children are checked-in and are provided with a nutritious snack before engaging in a variety of activities following a summer camp structure led by J University counselors. These include fun gym games, theme crafts, crazy science fun, cooking, outdoor activities, and of course, playground and game-room time.

Additional enrichment classes, such as karate, Mad Science, music (drums, guitar, and piano), Rookie Basketball, tennis, theater, and tutoring are optional, and J University staff will make sure children get to their classes and return after. If getting homework done is what is most important, the staff will help make sure they get it done. J University is supervised by a full-time staff and is compliant with the Department of Children and Families policies and procedures.
