Obituary - BERNARD BERMAN

 


Bernard Berman of Lake Mary, passed away on Friday, April 18, at Florida Hospital—Orlando. He was 86 years old. Mr. Berman was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 23, 1928, to the late Max and Sophie Levitsky Berman. Following high school he joined the U.S. Army and served in Europe in the Army of Occupation.

During his working career, Mr. Berman spent many years working in the oil industry as an oil rigger. He relocated Orlando from New York in 1964.

Mr. Berman is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Lake Mary; and sons, Steve (Marisela) of Indian Harbour Beach, Brad of Merritt Island, and Terry (Melinda) of Cocoa Beach; daughters Jerrilynn Huneycutt of Orlando, Lynda (Lamont) Garber of Winter Park and Gayle (Wayne) Garber of Longwood; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and his sister, Faye Barenson. He was predeceased by a brother and a sister.

A graveside funeral service was held at Glen Haven Memorial Park with Rabbi David Kay of Congregation Ohev Shalom officiating. The family requests contributions in memory of Bernard Berman be made to the Florida Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 640 Lee Road, Orlando 32810.
