Giving is always in style at the Pavilion Fashion Show

More than 100 women gathered at the 6th Annual Jewish Pavilion Fashion Show held on May 1 at Hutton in Winter Park, for a morning of friendship, fashion, finger foods, and fun. Pavilion volunteers graciously served as runway models as storeowne Susan Johnson shared the latest fashion trends. Pavilion board member and event honoree Elaine Gamson thanked Pavilion volunteers, family members and participants for their overwhelming support of the event, as well as of the Jewish elder community, her warm smile and genteel Southern manner immediately putting the crowd at ease.

Gamson noted the appropriateness of the event's location, sharing that she had grown up in a clothing store, a "schmatta store," in Williston, N.C., where her family's fortunes revolved around the happenings at Harold's department store. Gamson thanked her late parents, Harold and Rebecca Gaeser, for raising a tightly knit family, where community involvement was always in style.

Pavilion Executive Director Nancy Ludin said that it was a testament to honoree Elaine Gamson that the fashion show became a record-breaking event. "Thank you to Susan Livingstone and Jackie Levitt for their dedication and hard work," Ludin continued. "Thank you to Hutton for their hospitality and generosity (and donating back a percentage of sales). Who can resist shopping for a good cause?"
