Boy Scout Troop 641, the only Jewish-sponsored Boy Scouting Unit in Central Florida, is sending four members to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico July 15. Usher Larry Brown will accompany his son Daniel, and Scoutmaster Mark Kluger will accompany his son Nathan. The four will be part of the Central Florida Council Contingent leaving for a 15-day expedition to the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. The members have trained since August 2013 for their 80-plus mile hike through the mountains, where they will live in tents, backpacking up mountains, and into valleys.

"Troop 641 wishes our members a safe and amazing journey, and we look forward to sending more Scouts and leaders on this trip of a lifetime," said Ken Goldberg, Troop 641 media relations.

Boy Scout Troop 641 meets Sunday afternoons at the JCC in Maitland. For more information, you may visit the Troop's website at Troop641orlando.org or email scoutmaster@troop641orlando.org.
