Harriet Corey of Altamonte Springs, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at her daughter’s home in Demarest, New Jersey. She was 72 years old. A native of New York, Harriet was born in the Bronx on Feb. 13, 1942, to the late Samuel and Esther Metzger Miller. She attended local area schools and was married to the late Frederick Corey who passed away on May 18, 1983. In 1976, Harriet and her family relocated to the Orlando area from Pittsburgh, Penn.

Mrs. Cory served as administrator at Congregation of Reform Judaism, formerly Congregation of Liberal Judaism and later worked at the Jewish Academy of Orlando, formerly the Hebrew Day School, for many years. She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Tom) Shipley of New Jersey and Marla Corey-Loiola (Fernando Loiola); and two granddaughters. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Anderson of Hollywood, Fla.

Funeral services were held at the Congregation of Reform Judaism with Rabbi Steven Engel and Cantor Jacqueline Rawiszer officiating. Burial followed at the CRJ Cemetery.
