Boundless Judaism: More than the sum of its parts

 


A 12-week course titled “Boundless Judaism” will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at Temple Israel. Each self-contained session will be approximately 1-1.5 hours in length and will be held in the Roth Social Hall at 50 S. Moss Road, Winter Springs.

“Boundless Judaism” will erase the borders between ritual, history, ethics and culture until Judaism becomes the seamless whole it was meant to be. Each lecture will have five sections including a textual introduction, related liturgy, implied ethics/practices, historical examples and related holidays or life cycle events. The lectures will emphasize the connections among its sections and the relationship of all twelve lectures. Lectures will be presented via the new audio-visual system in the Roth Social Hall and will be audio-taped and uploaded to Temple Israel’s website for future study.

Presenters will include Rabbi Joshua Neely, Michael Fineberg, Natan Brener, Bernie Kahn, Susan Bernstein and Cathy Swerdlow.There will be a small charge for each lecture ($10) or $72 for the series. There is no charge for Temple Israel members.
