Jewish Academy of Orlando concert at Mead Gardens

On Sunday, Dec. 14, Mead Botanical Garden, located at1300 S. Denning Dr., Winter Park, will be the picturesque backdrop for the Jewish Academy of Orlando's Chanukah celebration, which will include food, socializing and a concert featuring local spiritual leader Beth Schafer of Temple Shir Shalom and her band, comprised of Bill Gifford on bass, Randy Nichols on drums, John Marsden on keyboard and Schafer on guitar.

Schafer has been blazing a trail in contemporary Jewish music for many years and she and her band perform concerts all over of the country. The Jewish Academy of Orlando is excited to have them help to usher in the holiday.

Doors will open at 3 p.m. with the pre-show beginning at 3:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 4 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Jewish Academy's eighth-graders' Israel trip, which is the much-anticipated highlight of the student's educational experience at the Jewish Academy.
