JFGO offering $100K in grants
The Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando (JFGO) has begun accepting applications for its $100,000 Community Collaborative Grants program.
Community Collaborative Grants from JFGO are available for collaborative programs and services for the 2015-2016 program year. At least two agencies, synagogues, or organizations must work together to develop and submit a proposal and implement a program. The amount of the award will depend on the quality and potential impact of the proposed program and the number of collaborating organizations.
Rhonda Forest, chairwoman of the JFGO Board of Directors, said the program is designed to have an immediate and lasting impact on the Central Florida Jewish community.
“Our Jewish Federation is all about keeping our Jewish community thriving and being the community coordinator for all things Jewish,” Forest said. “We are thrilled that we are able to offer this grant program, which we believe will be a catalyst for bringing much-needed programs, services and opportunities to Jews in Central Florida.”
Grants are available to 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organizations in Orange and Seminole counties whose mission is compatible with the mission of the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando. Proposals must be for new or enhanced programs or services. Programs may be of educational, social, cultural, or social service nature, and must have a significant Jewish component.
A JFGO Grants committee, co-chaired by Dr. Maxine Silverman Rosenthal and Maura Weiner, will review all proposals submitted. Grants will be announced at the Federation’s annual meeting on Aug. 19.
