The Pavilion Golf Society shot a hole in one for the elder community for the third year in a row with a successful golf outing, honoring founders Sheryl and Julian Meitin. More than 90 golfers were in full swing at Alaqua Country Club on Sunday, May 3, for a morning round of golf to raise funds for the Jewish Pavilion and its seniors help desk. Pavilion Golf Society (PGS) co-chairmen, Ken Davis and Eli Bercovici thanked attendees for "being the ace-in-the-hole for the senior community." Davis stated, "We got the ball rolling for a successful event with the help of our generous sponsors and our hardworking volunteers. A special thanks to Bagel King, Fifth Third Bank, Alaqua Country Club, Porsche of Orando and IOA. The money earned by the PGS will help increase the operational hours of Orlando's Senior Help Desk, ensuring access to info rmation about elder care for the Jewish community and seniors of all faiths and backrounds."

Honors were given at a luncheon following the tournament. Nancy Ludin, Jewish Pavilion executive director, shared a heartfelt moment with the honorees. She shared, "Sheryl and Julian Meitin are incredible individuals and philanthropists. More than 10 years ago, Sheryl and her dear friend, Claire Chepenik, envisioned the Jewish Pavilion and then created it out of nothing. They wanted to ensure that elderly Jews would not be alone in this world... Thanks to their generosity, including the free use of Julian's personal office space, the organization now enhances the life of more than 350 Jewish seniors in long term care in more than 50 facilities for older adults."

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting an organization that is so dear to ours," Sheryl responded. She expressed thanks for the opportunity to golf as a foursome with sons, Joshua and Ross. Julian added, "It's great to be with family and friends celebrating an organization so close to our hearts."
