On Tuesday, Oct. 13, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando convened the inaugural session of its 2015-2016 Jerome J. Bornstein Leadership Development Program at the home of Roz Fuchs Schwartz. The program, currently co-chaired by Patricia Bornstein and Rachel Gebaide, both Bornstein graduates, is designed to develop future leaders for the Central Florida Jewish Community. 

Graduates of the Bornstein program have gone on to serve on boards and hold top leadership positions at many of Central Florida's synagogues and Jewish agencies. Participants will learn how to assess and maximize their leadership styles; effective board, meeting, and volunteer management; specific challenges and opportunities related to the Jewish community, both locally and nationally; engagement around Israel; and how to define their own Jewishness to better understand and appreciate a chosen path to serving the community. 

After completion of the program, each graduate will serve a one-year board internship at the local Jewish agency or synagogue of their choice.

A competitive nomination process yielded 11 outstanding young men and women representing a range of backgrounds and experience. The Jerome J. Bornstein Leadership Development Program Class of 2015-2016 includes Alaina Wilder, Andrew Gluck, Ari Vinokur, Heidi Zissman, Isaac Greenberg, Jessica Hoch, Marissa Branisavljevic, Michelle Zaltsberg, Ming Marx, Mollie Savage, and Sam Friedman.
