JFS Orlando's healthy living workshops

For the next few months, JFS Orlando will host various health professionals in workshops suited to help people live healthier lives. The first workshop will be the Clean Eating Challenge, on Thursday, Jan. 21 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Do you need to shed a few holiday pounds? Are you facing health issues and need to make a change in your diet? Then take the Clean Eating Challenge presented by Polly Keller, who is an Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant, registered yoga teacher, cardiovascular invasive specialist and registered respiratory therapist.

This workshop will teach:

• The health benefits of seasonal eating.

• Why clean eating reduces cravings and fluid retention.

• How clean eating can reduce risk of cancer.

Participants in this workshop will also take home a clean eating plan and easy to follow at-home recipes. This workshop is free of charge and refreshments will be provided. Space is limited. Registration is requested by emailing Amanda Benedit at amanda.benedit@jfsorlando.org.

Future workshops include ways to nourish your heart and soul, led by Polly Keller on Feb. 11; explore practical holistic methods that guide your body and mind to reduce stress, led by Keller on March 24; and learn how emotions affect our ability to handle stress, make decisions and heal physically from breast cancer, led by Kim Croft, a Breast Cancer Recovery Coach, CCHt, MS. On April 21.

All workshops are held at JFS Orlando, 2100 Lee Road.
