Orlando's progressive Jewish preschool to host open house

Toddlers at Chai Preschool examine a pet turtle as part of the center's nature-based and play-based curriculum.

On Sunday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to noon, Chai Preschool's expansive grassy hills will be home to an array of farm animals, horses, and ponies, as the center hosts its annual Family Fun Day and Open House for preschoolers. Joining the festivities will be Mr. Richard in Concert, along with a host of activities geared specifically for those 5 and under at 7347 W Sand Lake Road.

Parents will have the opportunity to tour Chai Preschool's modern, spacious classrooms and to meet the highly qualified and friendly staff. Children will be able to explore the many features and activities in each classroom, in addition to enjoying face painting, horse and pony rides, and much more.

Chai Preschool, part of Chabad's international network of highly acclaimed preschools, is unique in its ability to combine progressive, educational practice with traditional, authentic Judaism. The program is inspired by the Reggio-Emilia approach, and is impressive by any standard for its encouragement of child-centered education and play-based learning. Children at the center enjoy a wide array of nature-based activities, sensory play, soccer instruction, music classes, gardening, and PE. In addition, parents love the emphasis on Jewish holidays, Shabbat celebrations and the trademark Chabad warmth that is present in every aspect of the experience.

In the seven years since its inception, Chai Preschool has grown from a small storefront to a beautiful, large facility on W Sand Lake Road. The center boasts a small staff-to-student ratio and a warm family feeling despite its strictly professional program. Staff members all hold educational degrees and undergo careful screening to ensure the safety and well-being of every child. The center enrolls children from 6 months to 5 years with an option to continue in its private kindergarten and small grade school hosted in a separate wing of the building.

Chai Preschool is in the midst of planning a Natural Playground on its grounds to support its emphasis on holistic, natural learning experiences.  For more information or to schedule a tour, visit http://www.chaiorlando.com or call 407-232-7188.
