Tot Shabbat at Temple Israel—Led by Nina Fine, Temple Israel’s youngest members and their parents celebrate Shabbat through song, movement, stores and drama. They learn about Shabbat prayers, Bible characters, ethics and the best ways to behave. 11:15 a.m. to noon in Room 1. The program is open to the entire community at no cost.

Theater at the J—Family Movie Night, FREE Showing of the movie “Bye, Bye Birdie.” 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. in the JCC auditorium. See the movie version of the play before seeing it performed live!


J.O.IN. Orlando—Hosts an interactive discussion titled: The Joy of Jewish Holidays” at 8 a.m. Shacharis at Orlando Torah Center, 8591 Banyan Blvd., Orlando. Breakfast included.

Chabad North Orlando—The Shofar Factory opens at Nate’s Shul, 1701 Markham Woods Rd., Longwood, at 1 p.m. Children of all ages can participate in a hands-on workshop, crafting a shofar. Chabad North Orlando—CTeen North Orlando meet at 3 p.m. in Nates Shul. Two other local Cteen chapters will meet with them to make real Kosher Shofros and learn about Rosh Hashanah in a fun way.

The Holocaust Center—I Remember: Eyewitnesses to the Holocaust, Survivor series presents A Conversation with Eva London Ritt, 2 p.m. at the Center. This event is free and open to the public.

Temple Shir Shalom—Meet other Jewish families at Lukas Nursery and Butterfly Encounter, 1909 Slavia Rd., Oviedo. 12:30 p.m. Cost: $6 per person; free for children 3 and under.

Temple Israel—Sunday Schmooze with bagels and coffee, 9:30 a.m.—noon.

JFS Orlando—Pantry to Plate Chefs’ Challenge, 5-8 p.m., Winter Park Civic Center, 1050 W Morse Blvd., Winter Park. Tickets, $125.

Torah & Tea—Women’s study group meeting weekly from 9:30—10:30 a.m. in the Conference Room at the Chabad Center of Jewish Life, 7347 W. Sand Lake Road, Orlando. The group is open to all women. Admission is free and no previous Jewish education is required.

Kinneret Apartments—Zei Gezunt—Be Healthy! Program 11:45 a.m. a program to ensure that ongoing health and wellness of the elderly is addressed through programs to educate, diet and exercise.


Temple Israel—Adult education class on the Torah portion of the week taught by Rabbi Neeley at the synagogue, noon. At 7 p.m. Rabbi Neely leads a seminar in the style of the Beit Midrash on Jewish Law. Info: 407-647-3055.

The Roth Family JCC—The Essential Oils Experience series. A Mom’s Toolkit, 11 a.m.-noon, Empower yourself by using essential oils to support your family’s everyday needs. The Holocaust Center—Education Forum. 6 p.m., Mitch Bloomer addresses Nazi Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union and the resulting onset of the “Final Solution.” This even is free and open to the public.

PJ Library—Multi-generational Shabbat Picnic in the Park, 5:30 p.m. at Enders Park Clubhouse in Baldwin Park, 947 Fern Ave., Orlando. The event is free.
