Beth Am board installation and Volunteer Shabbat

Congregation Beth Am (CBA) in Longwood will be holding a special Shabbat service and Oneg sponsored by the 2016 CBA Board of Directors on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. In addition to installing the 2017 board of directors, CBA will also celebrate its first Volunteer Shabbat, recognizing those members who rallied behind the board in 2016.

“What a way to honor those folks who stepped up to support the shul,” said 2016 President Mike Cohen. “We are nothing without the help of these invaluable volunteers.

“It will also be nice to formally induct our 2017 board.”

Kevin Colley assumes the presidency in 2017, while Cohen will continue on as immediate past president. They are joined by vice presidents Phil Kaprow (religious activities), Robyn Colley and Rachel Shapiro (Education), Steve Bierenbaum and Robyn Eichenholz (Ways and Means), and Joanie Mayer (Membership). Dan Williams, Nikki Botwinik and Michael Wilenskly return as treasurer, secretary and facilities director, respectively. Rounding out the board are directors at large Steven Botwinik, Josh Katz, Robert Rosenberg, and Gabe Yopack.

“I look forward to building on the improvements we made last year,” said Colley. “While maintaining much of last year’s board, we are fortunate to add several newcomers whom we expect to make immediate contributions and become our future top leadership.”

For more information about the service, to which the entire congregation and public are invited, contact the CBA office at shalom@congbetham.org or 407-862-3505.
