Pearl Luncheon goes on the road(show)

Miriam Josephs (l), chairwoman of the Pearls of the Pavilion luncheon, with Elise Schilowitz, Jewish Pavilion past president.

The Jewish Pavilion's Pearls of the Pavilion luncheon is going on the road, an "Antique-Style Roadshow" that is, at Heathrow Country Club on Wednesday, Feb. 8. The event will be chaired by Friends Board member Miriam Josephs of Longwood, who has been with the nonprofit for elders for more than a decade. Past Board President Elise Schilowitz of Maitland was the brainchild behind the unique event.

"At the Jewish Pavilion, we see our senior community as valued treasures, each with a story of a full life," Schilowitz shared. "We thought an 'Antique-Style Roadshow' was a great way to honor our committed volunteers, and have some fun remembering keepsakes (perhaps given to us by someone treasured), and uncovering the history and story behind how they were acquired."

The Pearls of the Pavilion will be treated to a gourmet luncheon and an "Antiques Roadshow Experience" led by appraisers Mark Metts and Sharon Germaine. Attendees are encouraged to search their homes for hidden treasures and heirlooms such as dolls, purses, books, silver pieces, jewelry (no gems or paintings), furniture, furs, ceramics, and clothing.

To find out more about becoming a Pearl of the Pavilion, and attending the luncheon call Jewish Pavilion Executive Director Nancy Ludin at 407-678-9363 or email : NancyLudin@ jewishpavilion.org.

If you are a current donor, you may already be a Pearl, or perhaps, are just a few dollars away. Call the Pavilion office at 407-678-9363 to find out.
