Elaine Rosenthal, age 86, of Longwood, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Brookdale Island Lake. Elaine was born on Jan. 3, 1931, in Chicago Ill., to the late Solomon and Annette Gittleman Strauss. On Dec. 8, 1957, in Brooklyn, she married Dr. Emanuel Rosenthal, her husband of nearly 60 years, who survives her.

During her working career, Elaine worked as the office manager in her husband’s dental practice. They retired to South Florida and then relocated to the Orlando area in 2015 to be closer to their daughter.

In addition to her husband, Elaine is survived by her sons, Jay (Donna) Rosenthal of New York and Richard (Robin) Rosenthal of New York; and her daughter, Bethanne (Jeffrey) Weiss of Longwood. She was the very proud grandmother of Farah, Adin, Dylan and Alyssa, and Ryan, Adam and Talia.

A funeral service was held at Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. Interment was at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims.
