B'nai Mitzvah - Sara Rose Schenkel and Avi Benjamin Schenkel

Sara Rose Schenkel and her brother Avi Benjamin Schenkel, the children of Mark Schenkel and Jodi Rubin of Orlando, Fla., will be called to the Torah as b'nai mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Congregation Ohev Shalom in Maitland.

Sara and Avi are in the seventh grade at College Park Middle School where they are both members of the International Baccalaureate program, symphonic band and on the Principal's Honor Roll.

Sara enjoys playing piano and trombone, rowing as a member of the Lake Brantley Rowing Team and serving on the Kadima board at Congregation Ohev Shalom. 

Avi is a member of the TNT Elite Basketball Team and enjoys math, science, astronomy, and playing drums.

Sharing in the family's simcha will be their older sister Hannah; grandfathers Jerry Schenkel of Tamarac, Fla., and Paul Rubin of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandparents Sandy and Ralph Rosenthal of Fairfax, Va.; and friends and family from South Florida, Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin and New York.
