Marty “The Big Guy” Francis, age 65, of Winter Springs, passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 4, 1953, to Carol Loeb Francis and the late Leonard Francis. In 1961, he relocated to the Orlando area with his family and graduated from Edgewater High School. The family were longtime members of Congregation Ohev Shalom and later, Congregation Beth Am. Marty was, among other things, a well-known radio personality, hosting a weekly show on Cycle Rider Radio – AM540.

In addition to his mother, Marty is survived by his son, Leigh Jason Francis of Washington, D.C .; and his daughter, Nicole Francis of Orlando. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Francis of Issaquah, Washington; his nephews and niece and friend, Mindy Lessard.

A funeral service was held at the Pavilion at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. The family requests contributions in memory of Marty Francis to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation http://www.vfw.org/foundation.
