Heritage viewpoint right-leaning, needs balance

November 30, 2018

Dear Editor,

Once again, you have published articles on your editorial pages from writers, including absolutely no identification of their affiliation, organization, etc. It helps immensely to know the background and perspective of the writer when we read an article.

As an example, in the Nov. 9 issue, there is an article by Norman Berdichevsky, with no reference point at all. What is his position, location, organization, etc.?

In the Nov. 16 issue you have an article by Caroline Glick, previously published in the Jerusalem Post. No information about her background, viewpoint, etc. We don’t get the Jerusalem Post, so we don’t see what they say about her. You often have her articles with nothing about her affiliation, organization or location, other than they are previously published in the Jerusalem Post.

In the vein of editorial content, in your Oct. 26 issue you published an article by Rabbi Steven Engel prior to and with perspectives about the recent election. This was the only article we can remember that actually had any positive reference to left-leaning candidates or issues. He states that he submitted it in response to inaccurate facts previously published in Heritage. Overall, your editorial viewpoint is clearly right-leaning and needs more balance to maintain subscribers from all sides of the political spectrum.
