Obituary-GERI HILLER MASLANIK

Geraldine "Geri" Shirley Hiller Maslanik, 89, died on Nov. 29, 2018. She was born March 7, 1929, in the Bronx, New York City.

Geri graduated from NYU, where she was inducted into the Hall of Fame. She later received an MBA from Rollins College and taught accounting and other subjects at Jones Business College and Valencia Community College in Orlando for over 20 years, where she was a beloved and inspirational teacher.

Geri was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ted Maslanik, who she met in a class at NYU. They were members of the Congregation of Liberal Judaism since 1964 when they moved to Orlando.

Geri is survived by "Team Maslanik," which includes her four children: Austin Maslanik (Denie Garrett), Hilary Tanner (Ret), Loretta Lott (Richard), and Stuart Maslanik (Candice); seven grandchildren: Aaron Maslanik (Megan Banfield), Irene Maslanik, Erica Tanner, Ben and Dan Lott, Rachel Hamilton (Kyle), and Alex Maslanik; two great-grandchildren: Charlotte and Jacob Maslanik; and her aunt, Selma Swartz.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Wedgewood Healthcare Center who lovingly cared for her throughout the last three years. Geri was interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, beside her beloved Ted, on Dec. 19, 2018, in a family service.
